The Story of Us:
As the year continues to hurtle along at a pretty fast pace; I can’t believe another lot of school holidays are over. We have enjoyed a fairly relaxed couple of weeks at home in the glorious Old Bar sunshine, making it to the beach, enjoying a pretty bouncy time of it at inflatable world and hanging around the house taking things easy. A highlight -was celebrating our great nephew, Ashton, at his baptism and catching up with family while doing so.
Tyz didn’t feel well the day before school went back; but I encouraged her to soldier on, not wanting her to miss the first day of term (I remember going back to schoolitis well) that night I was up with her through the night and realised she really was unwell (guilty mum moment!) and let her have the next day off school -then came down with the same thing myself (Karma); realised how sick she actually felt and had a really, really guilty mum moment.
Moral of the story: It can be hard to know how someone else feels until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.
Managing Brendan’s cancer at home with chemo tablets continues to be a Godsend, and has made a huge difference to us being able to enjoy life as usual (it’s a new usual – but I’ll take it); he looks great and in general feels pretty good. His next review is coming up in May, we are hoping that the medication has continued to be effective; if so we will keep enjoying life as usual –gratefully.
Life is Good and Hope is Limitless.
