22 Day Push Up Challenge

Every now and then I’m quick enough to catch my husband doing his thing on video. Today it was day 1 of the 22 day push up challenge that he is participating in on facebook. Below you can read his fb comment on the reason why he is participating.

Brendan Maloney:  “This challenge holds a deep meaning for me, as someone that has a brother, great uncle, cousin via marriage, and friends that have seen active service overseas.
The numbers and details in the original (fb) post are actually the US statistics, and while Australia does not lose 22 veterans a day, we lose them at pretty much the same percentage rate when you compare how many from each country served.
I am fairly sure that both Australia and the US have now lost more veterans to suicide on their return from the Afghanistan war, than where killed during the conflict. No doubt the other countries forces would be similar.
I have also taken the opportunity to honour the 41 Australians killed in during the Afghanistan conflict. Their names are listed on the T shirt I am wearing for the challenge. Lest we forget.” (featured image)

I find Brendan and his level of fitness to be very motivating. Considering he is taking chemotherapy tablets every day, I also find him pretty inspiring.
I hope you do too.

I think he goes alright!

What is a daily prompt? Daily Prompt (one of my fave creative blogs) publishes a new word every day, those participating (there are hundreds of us) write a new post in response to the day’s one-word prompt… the purpose behind it is to keep the creative juices flowing within a supportive community.

I find writing, playing with fiction especially, to be a great escape from the busyness of life, which is why I enjoy participating in Daily Prompts when I have the time.

Having said that, the main focus at calliemm.com  is to share awareness of the rare/uncommon cancer my husband Brendan has…

You can find more information on Sarcoma Cancer by following this link: sarcoma.

Or hit “The Story of Us” Category to read more about the in’s and out’s of living with undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS)
Life is good and hope is limitless.

Thank you for including me Nezel, I am glad also to have connected with a fellow Gemini. Your blog is lovely. I’m not sure how I will go timewise as far as joining in, as my husband is just about to start another round of radiation and things get hectic in our house when that’s going on, but I appreciate the inclusion 🙂
