Tree

Daily Prompt: Tree

What do you see when you see a tree.

I see a trunk, strong and steadfast, unwavering against the strongest storm.

I see branches growing from the trunk; some covered in leaves all year round, some not. The trunk doesn’t care, she holds strong and supports her branches no matter what.

I see the breath of life she gives freely in the oxygen she creates, feeding all that need to be sustained. She never complains.

And I see her roots; they dig deeply into the earth – for the stability she needs to hold up not only her but her branches too, and anyone or thing who may need to lean on her, sheltering as the do.

That’s what I see when I see a tree.

What is a daily prompt? Daily Prompt (one of my fave creative blogs) publishes a new word every day, those participating (there are hundreds of us) write a new post in response to the day’s one-word prompt… the purpose behind it is to keep the creative juices flowing within a supportive community.

I find writing, playing with fiction especially, to be a great escape from the busyness of life, which is why I enjoy participating in Daily Prompts when I have the time.

Having said that, the main focus at calliemm.com  is to share awareness of the rare/uncommon cancer my husband Brendan has…
