Reflections: 2016

Reflections:

2016, yes –it’s nearly over. Looking back I won’t be sad as I hum Auld Lang Syne this New Year’s Eve; I’m kinda glad 2016 is just about time gone by. For all its beauty and wonder, life, after all should never be short on those; it was a year that saw cancer dictate how my family’s days would unfold, once again. When she has you in her grip, she really is a bitch.

2016 has reminded me that time is precious, and not to waste it on things that don’t matter. It has hit me over the head with the fact that I am in charge of my own happiness…nothing can change that, not even cancer. Yes, you can exist within the cancer storm, sometimes even in the eye of it and still share precious moments of sheer joy with your tribe.

So know your tribe and love them hard…because really they are all that matter! Leave nothing left unsaid, because every new sunrise is a gift not a given. Live your best life every day…that’s your legacy, not something you leave behind, it’s everything you do now!

Make every new step you take – another step forward, as you jump into 2017 with both feet and a huge smile! Haven’t thought of a New Year’s Resolution? You can borrow mine: I’m going to try to live my best life – every day!

Start the New Year how you would like to finish it, if you can!

Be happy – Be Safe – Be Strong -You are loved

Yes, Life is still good and hope will always be limitless.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Love and peace to all, signing out till next year…

Cal xx

  1. Thank you Callie for your candidness, for your positivity and for sharing all your ups and downs. I love how beautifully you’ve written in that when I see your blog, I can’t wait to read it each and every time. I love how you’ve reminded me to keep looking for the best in every situation.
From my family to yours we send our blessings and pray that 2017 will be a healthy and happy year. Much love xxx
