Heart Connections

Looking back on February, I sigh with relief, knowing my daughter, Tyz, has settled into Uni living and is loving city life. She has 3 gorgeous new flatmates, and her two cousins are a quick train ride away (40 minutes is quick in the city). Having said all that, her twin brother Bades, our fur boy Otis and I are missing her like crazy and even so, I am heart happy. Knowing my kids have stepped into the next part of their lives with the same grace they have done every other thing makes me a very proud mum. It also got me thinking about their people, their ride-or-dies, and how they are meeting some now who will be with them throughout their lives – along with the special lifelong friends they already have.

Our heart connections are many and can happen organically without us noticing. We all have more than we know when we stop and think about it… (these are the things I think about at 1am on a Friday morning, knowing Tyz isn’t home from the Ivy yet – because I’ve messaged to check, lol.)

Power of the Heart Connections

The power of heart connection is a force that can be felt and experienced by everyone, regardless of age, gender, or cultural background. These connections are based on our desire for love, friendship, and community. From parenting bonds with our kids, friends sharing a laugh, or strangers coming together to help each other in need, these connections can transform lives and create positive change.

At the core of heart connections is the ability to empathize with others. When we connect with someone on a heart level, we empathize with their struggles, share in their joys, and see the world through their eyes. This level of understanding and compassion allows us to form deep and meaningful connections.

When we form these connections, we are not just connecting with someone on a surface level. We are connecting with who they are, their soul, their being. We see them and allow them to see us. These connections go beyond words or actions. They are love, heart-to-heart.

The power of our heart connections can extend beyond personal relationships and impact our professional lives. When we form heart connections with our colleagues, we are more likely to be productive, engaged, and satisfied with our work. We are also more likely to collaborate effectively and work towards common goals. Many businesses support building solid and meaningful connections between their employees. Heart-to-heart is not just for the romantics but all of our relationships.

Acts of kindness and altruism highlight the power of heart connections. When we connect with someone on a heart level, we are likelier to feel empathy and compassion towards them. This can motivate us to take action and help those in need. We see this in countless acts of kindness daily – from a stranger buying someone’s coffee to communities coming together to support those affected by illness or natural disasters.

Heart connections in all their magical forms can profoundly impact our lives and world. When we form deep and meaningful relationships with others, empathize with them, share in their joys and struggles, and work towards common goals, we enrich our lives beyond measure. We step beyond surface-level interactions and toward a connection that is felt at our very core. And it’s amazing.

Sitting back, watching my kids step out into the world – creating heart connections fearlessly and mostly unaware, has me thinking, as comfortable as I am at home with my dog and Netflix – I need to follow their example; there’s a big world out there to explore. And I’m not even a little bit interested in exploring it online. It’s time to get out and about, spend time with friends and make new ones – you can never have too many heart connections.

Healing Heart Prayer (It’s been a while. I loved writing prayers in the sand some years ago. This is a pretty one)

Dear God ( or whoever you talk to.)

As I come to you today, I ask that you bless and heal the hearts of all in need. Whether struggling with physical or emotional pain, please wrap us all in your loving embrace and give us the strength and courage to persevere.

I ask that you help us cultivate a pure and compassionate heart filled with love, kindness, and empathy for others. May we be guided by your wisdom and grace as we navigate life’s challenges and strive to live in harmony with our divine plan.

Please comfort those of us who have experienced heartbreak or loss, and grant us peace and solace.

Thank you for life’s gifts and the daily blessings bestowed upon us. May our hearts be filled with gratitude, joy, and love, and may we always be instruments of your grace and mercy in the world.

Amen (And so it is.)
