Everything has surprised me about cancer. As much as I thought I knew, it turns out that I know nothing and even now 3 years on, I can only know how it affects me personally. Although I have been beside my husband throughout the last three years, sat in on every consult and by his bedside through every operation recovery and every chemo infusion; I still have very little idea of how it feels for him to be the one facing this disease head on.

Update
We’ll take swimming in the ocean, long walks on the beach with the kids and dog, sleeping in a bed and being able to sit in the car pain free, comfortably, so he can go places and do things again.

ITT: 06-03-17 The sixth of March was a wet day in the city and marked a new chapter in Brendan and our family’s cancer story. We got to The Kinghorn Cancer Centre early on the morning of treatment, so walked up Victoria St a little way before it started, until we found a shoe box…
