This year began quietly for me. I have made no resolutions and feel no pressure to reinvent myself. I really just want to dial things down.
* Less screen time.
* Less constant input.
* Less urgency to keep up.
* Less constant input.
* Less urgency to keep up.
* More analogue moments.
More books read, handwritten everything, walks, cups of coffee, ocean air, and lots more unexplained pauses and absences. I am choosing to quietly become less visible in my private time. If 2025 taught me anything, it was to not say anything about anything until the thing is done, because too many cooks really do spoil the broth.
I’m not rejecting the digital world; it connects us, inspires us, and sustains small businesses like mine. But I am choosing to loosen its grip. To let my days be shaped by a slower way of living rather than endless notifications. This year, I’ll focus more on being in the moment and less on timelines.
Living simply doesn’t mean living small. For me, it’s more about making space for what I love. So, I’m turning back time a little to the way I did things before social media was the way we all stayed connected: more walks on the beach, getaways with friends, dancing, meditating, journaling, crafting, shells, ink, books, and breathwork. Things that encourage stillness and presence, not performance. Sounds kinda fun, doesn’t it!
If you’re standing at the edge of this new year feeling tired rather than hopeful, it’s okay. A quieter beginning counts, and sometimes it is the perfect way to enjoy the reset of a new year.
Less really can be more!
A New Years Blessing
Standing at the water’s edge, or wherever you are, read softly:
May I move through this year with fewer demands and deeper meaning.
May I choose what is slow, real, and meant for me.
May I ebb and flow when I need to
May simplicity steady me,
And presence be enough.
Under grace, and in a perfect way.
